You do not need a beauty background to enrol, but if you have one, you will move through the mapping and symmetry components faster and spend more of the day refining technique rather than learning the basics.
What we do not accept is someone hoping to skip fundamentals because they have watched a few tutorials online. Brow mapping errors are the single most common reason self-taught technicians get repeat client complaints, and they are almost always avoidable with proper training in facial proportion and measurement — not talent, method.
What Is Actually Covered in the Day?
Brow mapping. This is where most self-taught technicians fall down, and it is the first thing we cover. You learn to map a brow to a client's actual bone structure and facial proportions — not a generic template — using a repeatable measuring method you can apply to any face shape.
Waxing. Correct wax temperature, application angle, and removal technique to clean up a brow shape without over-thinning it or causing irritation.
Tinting. Colour theory for brow tint, patch testing protocol, and application technique for a natural-looking result that holds.
Hybrid dye application. The newer combination tinting method that stains the skin and coats the hair simultaneously for a longer-wearing, more defined result than tint alone.
Brow lamination. Full process from patch test through to the lift, set, and tint finish — including how to read a client's brow hair to choose the right lamination timing and avoid over-processing.
How Is the Day Structured?
The morning is theory and demonstration: mapping methodology, product knowledge, health and safety, and patch testing requirements. You watch each technique performed before you touch a model. The afternoon is hands-on — you perform mapping, waxing, tinting, hybrid dye, and lamination yourself on a live model, with correction and feedback in real time. You leave with a completed brow set you built from start to finish, not just notes.
This structure is deliberate. I have trained enough technicians over fifteen years to know that watching a demonstration and doing the work yourself, on a real face, with someone correcting your hand pressure and product timing in the moment, are two completely different skill levels. A one-day course that is all theory and no live model work is not actually training you — it is showing you a video with extra steps.
