What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?

RPL is a formal assessment process that recognises skills and knowledge you have gained through industry experience. You must demonstrate competency against national standards.

Is this nationally recognised?

Yes. Statements of Attainment are issued by our partnered Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Will I automatically pass?

No. All candidates must demonstrate competency across the full unit requirements.

Is this suitable for beginners?

No. This is for experienced lash artists who are already servicing clients.

How long does the process take?

Typically 4–8 weeks depending on how quickly you submit evidence and assessor availability.

What evidence do I need to provide?

You will be required to submit evidence including:

Administrative:

• 100 points ID
• USI
• Signed enrolment documents

Practical Evidence:

• Before and after lash sets
• Isolation technique
• Application process
• Volume application (if completing SHBBMUP015)
• Safe removal
• Client consultation process
• Infection control & hygiene procedures
• Workstation setup

Documentation:

• Client consultation forms
• Treatment records
• Aftercare instructions
• Evidence of previous training (if applicable)

Third Party Verification:

• Employer reference OR
• Industry colleague verification OR
• Client attestation

A full checklist is provided after enrolment.

What if I have only completed private training?

That is acceptable. RPL assesses your competency, not where you trained.

How do I receive and complete the RPL?

Once you select and purchase the units you wish to complete, you will receive the enrolment form, RPL application/s via email to complete in your own time.

Who do I send the RPL to when completed?

When you have gathered all your evidence, you will compile it neatly in one file or folder and email it back to training@lashdeyelashes.com with your full name, order number and the link to the folder (google drive) or PDF download.

Already Working as a Lash Artist?
Formalise Your Experience with Nationally Recognised Units.

Lash'd Eyelashes in conjunction with our sister brand International Lash Masters are proud to announce that we are now offered Nationally Accredited Lash Training and Recognised Prior Learning.

We have aligned with a Registered Training Organisation to provide accreditation to existing and new lash artists across Australia. Yes this means accredited!

What does this mean?

This means that your lash training in the chosen unit will be assessed and certified in line with standards provided by ASQA and our RTO. Upon completion of training or on receipt of your RPL submission, you will receive a Statement of Attainment which is nationally recognised in Australia's vocational Education System. Our courses and RPL are not simply private training courses, you will be provided with a recognised certification.

What is Recognised Prior Learning?

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is a process that assesses your competency—acquired through formal and informal learning—to determine if you meet the requirements for a unit of study.

You can use a variety of documentation to prove you are skilled in the relevant unit for RPL. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Records of completed training
  • Assessment items
  • Assessment records
  • Declarations from your employer, and/or
  • A copy of your student records provided by ASQA.

Please see images attached of the evidence you will need to provide for each unit above. Once you have completed the application with as much evidence as possible. Please email it to us with the required subject line so we can clearly identify your submission for assessment. Details will be provided in a document after purchase.

This pathway assesses your real-world experience against national competency standards. Upon successful assessment, you receive a Statement of Attainment issued by our partnered RTO. This strengthens your professional standing and ensures you are aligned with recognised industry frameworks.

Designed for Experienced Lash Artists

This is not entry-level training. It is an assessment-only pathway for lash artists who are already servicing clients and can demonstrate safe, compliant procedures. Your experience is formally evaluated and validated against national standards.

Future-Proofs Your Career

Whether you plan to expand, align with an RTO, move into education, or simply elevate your credibility, nationally recognised units position you at a higher professional standard. This is about long-term authority, not short-term validation.
